Every Korean word comes from a real place and a real time. Five stations, from the first legend to today, each with its own words.

Silla, 57 BCE to 935 CE. The kingdom of gold crowns, star-watching towers and Buddhist temples that lasted almost a thousand years.
1392 to 1897. Kings, Confucian scholars, the yangban class, and King Sejong's invention of Hangul.
Hanok villages. Inside the traditional Korean house: mountain-and-river placement, ondol floor heating, the cool maru hall, and clay tile roofs.
